Privacy Policy

Tyrion ("we", "us") operates an audiobook streaming service at https://tyrion.codexin.lol. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the service, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Tyrion is a browsing and listening service. We do not sell subscriptions, take payments, or run third-party advertising.

We collect only the information needed to provide the service:

• Account information: if you create an account or sign in, our authentication provider (Clerk) records your email address, your user ID, and any profile details you choose to provide, such as a username or full name. If you sign in with Google or another external provider, we receive the basic profile information that provider returns.
• Listening activity: which book and chapter you are on, and your position within that chapter. Your position is saved roughly every 30 seconds while you listen, and when you pause or close the player, so that you can resume where you left off.
• Library data: whether you have marked a book as finished or favourite, your wishlist, and any custom collections you create.
• User-generated content: comments you post and ratings (one to five stars) you submit. Ratings are associated with your account so that your own rating is shown as yours.
• Account settings: preferences you change in the site settings page.

We do not collect payment or card details, because the service is free and takes no payments. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Authentication and session cookies are set by Clerk. These are strictly necessary: they keep you signed in and protect against cross-site request forgery. They cannot be switched off without breaking sign-in.

Your theme preference and other interface choices are stored in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, so they stay on your device until you clear them.

We use a small number of third-party services to operate the site. Each receives only the data it needs:

• Clerk: authentication and account management, providing the sign-in and sign-up flows on https://tyrion.codexin.lol.
• Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, DNS, rate limiting, and the audio proxy that serves audiobook files. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and user agents for security and abuse prevention.
• Maincloud SpacetimeDB: the database that stores the catalogue and your account data.
• Hugging Face: file storage from which audiobook audio and cover images originate. Audio and images are delivered through our Cloudflare proxy rather than requested directly from Hugging Face.

Audiobook audio and cover images are not stored on our own servers. They are requested through a Cloudflare Worker proxy that validates a signed, short-lived token before serving a file. A token is issued only to a signed-in user and is bound to that user and that specific file, so links cannot be shared or replayed to fetch content.

We use your data only to:

• Provide the service: resuming playback, showing your library and progress, and displaying comments and ratings.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Detect and prevent abuse, including automated scraping and excessive requests.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce these terms.

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers listed above, who process it on our instructions. We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of the service, our users, or others.

Account data, listening progress, library entries, comments, and ratings are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, this data is removed from the live database. Removing an account does not automatically delete comments or ratings that are visible to other users on a book's page, so that discussions remain coherent; ask us if you would like those removed as well.

We protect your data with signed, short-lived tokens for file access, server-side authorisation checks on every request that touches your data, and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because the account lives with our authentication provider, you can change or delete your account from your profile, and we will act on requests for anything beyond that.

Tyrion is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site.
